Statement of Faith





As a local congregation of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, we affirm our belief in the following articles of: 


1. The Godhead


(a)    The existence of God.  (Psalm 19:1; Romans 1:18-20; Acts 7:29)


(b)    The Trinity in unity of the Godhead. (Isaiah 48:16; Matthew 28:-20;

II Corinthians 13:14; Deuteronomy 6:4)


2. God The Father


(a)   God the Father’s Relationships:


(i)    Father over all creation.                      (Acts 17:29)

(ii)   Father of the nation of Israel.             (Exodus 4:22)

(iii)  Father of the Lord Jesus Christ.        (Matthew 3:17)

(iv)  Father of believers in Christ.              (Galatians 3:26)


(b)   God the Father’s Particular Works:

(i)    Author of the decree.                          (Psalm 2:7-9)

(ii)   Author of election.                                (Ephesians 1:3-6

(iii)  Begetter and sender of Christ.           (John 3:16)

(iv)  Disciplinarian of His Children             (Hebrews 12:9)


3. Jesus Christ


(a)   The essential Deity.

Virgin birth and true humanity of Christ. 

(Hebrews 1:8; John 1:3; Luke 7:48; Philippians 2:10; Luke1:26-37; Galatians 4:4; Hebrews 4:15; Luke 19:10; I Timothy 2:5)


(b)  His Sinlessness.                                   (II Corinthians 5:21)


(c)  His sacrificial death for sinners.          (I Peter 3:18)


(d)  His bodily resurrection.                        (I Corinthians 15:1-5)


(e)  His personal and visible return.          (I Thessalonians 4:13-5:11; 

                                                                          Revelation 19)



(f)  His gift of eternal salvation to believers.  (John 3:16; John 10:27-30;       

      I John 5:11-12)


4. The Holy Spirit


The Deity of the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4; Luke 1:35) whose office is to regenerate the sinner (John 3:5-6, sanctify the believer (II Thessalonians 3:13) and impart to the Church gifts for service.  (I Peter 4:10)  Also, He empowers the believer and enables him to live a holy life.  (Galatians 5:22-23; Ephesians 5:18-20)


5. Man


(a)  The depraved and fallen state of man as a result of the fall recorded in                 

                  Genesis 3.


            (b)  The absolute necessity of new birth for entrance into the Kingdom of God

                  John 3.


(c)    The resurrection of the body (John 5:28-29; I Corinthians 15).


(d)   The ultimate eternal blessedness of all true believers. (Romans 8:17; 


I Peter 1:3-5)


(e)   The eternal punishment of those who die impenitent. (Revelation 20:11-



(f)    The immortality of the soul. (Luke 16:19-31; Hebrews 9:27)


6.  Satan


The personality of the devil as the enemy of God and of His people.  (John 8:44;     Job 1:6-12; I Peter 5:8-9).


7.  The Scriptures


We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were inspired   and inerrant as they were originally given and that they constitute an infallible guide to individual believers and the Church.  (II Timothy 3:16; John 17:3; 

Romans 3:4; Matthew 5:17; John 10:35)


8.  Salvation


We believe that sinners are saved by grace through faith alone and that not of         themselves, it is the gift of God not of works. (Ephesians 2:8-9)



9.  The Church


     We believe that the Church universal is composed of all who are united by the

     Holy Spirit to the risen and ascended Son of God (Matthew 16:18; Colossians 

     1:18; Ephesians 3:10).  This takes place at the time of new birth.  (Ephesians

     2:19; Galatians 4:5; I Peter 2:9; Philippians 3:20; I Peter 1:4). The local church is 

     an expression of the church universal. 


10.  Ordinance - Baptism


       We believe and practice Christian baptism as evidenced by water immersion. 

We believe it symbolizes our union with Christ and our identification with Him in death and resurrection.  (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 8:12; Romans 6:1-14)


11.  Ordinance – The Lord’s Supper


We believe that our Lord clearly prescribed for His believing disciples the solemn rite of the Lord’s Supper as a memorial for the Lord’s death to be kept by His disciples until He comes again.  (Corinthians 11:23-27; Luke 22:19-20)


12.  Conduct


We believe in the responsibilities of every believer in Christ to live daily in fellowship with God through the reading of Holy Scripture, prayer, personal discipline, and dependence upon the Spirit and be regular in attendance at public worship.  (John 15:1-17; II Timothy 3:16-17; I Thessalonians 5:17; I Corinthians 9:24-27; Ephesians :15-21; Galatians 5:16-26; Hebrews 10:23-25).
